I took my first yoga class when I was 16, at the local gym in my neighborhood. I immediately connected with the physical movement, and somehow left feeling both lighter and grounded. After dabbling in yoga throughout college, where I pursued a BFA in Musical Theatre, I moved to New York with the intention to be a professional singer and actor. Although I loved the craft, I realized I was chasing the idea of the dream rather than the dream itself. My heart was not in it the way I had intended; within a year's time, I had sought out yoga as an outlet to help find balance and clarity in my life. With my background in music and dance, I was drawn to the grace, fluidity and seamlessness of Vinyasa yoga. During a pivotal moment, I decided to stop pursuing musical theatre and put all of my efforts toward a more intuitive and spiritual path, which led me to complete my yoga teacher training in the spring of 2013.
I received my 200-hour certification at PURE yoga in Manhattan, under the instruction of Kay Kay Clivio and Yogi Charu. I specialize in Vinyasa, Hot Power Vinyasa, and Meditation, however, I am well-verse in myriad styles of yoga and my classes are a fusion of the many teaching styles that have resonated with me over the years. I hope to offer dynamic and challenging asana, while honoring the authenticity of yoga's deep roots in spirituality and philosophy.
